Unofficial Lost ARG
With the official Lost ARG going, I must say I am a little disappointed. Like many ARGs, it is largely a hunt for passwords with little in the way of real immersion. (Admittedly there are some stories that early ARGs like Majestic were too immersive and freaked people out. However, at the time no one knew what to expect, and ARGs are more common now).
I would like to contact leading members in the ARG community, as well as fans of Lost to put together a new ARG. This will be no hoax. We will be extremely upfront about the unofficial nature of the game, and yet I believe the appeal may be stronger than the real Lost Experience. The key I believe is feeling like you are part of the game. There should be different groups and factions interacting with different groups of players. Different players should receive different, and at times conflicting pieces of the story. Players should have an opportunity to play roles in said story. People need to be able to write emails, interact in chats, and such from time to time with the game. Furthermore, the puzzles need to step it up a notch. If we can combine top-notch puzzles (akin to http://www.deathball.net/notpron/ ) with the Lost universe, I believe you will have an extremely popular game. One of the goals would be to create a game that exists in the Lost universe, but does not seek to replace the official Lost Experience. While that game focuses on discovering details on The Hanso Foundation, we will seek to tell a compelling story that compliments Lost. We may implement new information that arises in the Lost ARG, Podcasts or show to stay consistent within the milleu but our story will be our own. Do you have any interest in lending your talents to such an endeavor? If so, please email me at enderandrew at GMAIL dot COM I am only interested in those who have a sincere desire to help put together such a game. If you have web-design skills, artistic talents, Flash skillz, they will no doubt come in handy. If you have a website that can handle the bandwidth and wish to offer us space during a phase of the game, that would be great as well. If this does take off, there will be no public discussion of the design or plot of the game. Those committed to the project will discuss, plan and execute the project via a private online colloberation site. I do not want to take away the element of surprise away from potential players. Thank you, and namaste! |

Looks like no one is interested... Why? Because the reason people lik ethe ARG is because it is exposing facts and using facts from the actual show and we are all fans of the show... Sorry... =o)
