If a person were to travel thru time to tell themself they should go down this street instead of that one on this particular day, or maybe you should not marry that particular person, would you listen to yourself? Or maybe the younger you would not even recognize you the way you look all these years later. If you told someone on that now infamous day on September 11 not to go to work that day, do you think they'd listen. Most likely they'd think you were some kind of nut. And the next question is, if you did manage to change something in the past would it just make a small difference in the scheme of things or would it create a black hole in the fabric of the universe?

I think it depends on the person. I, for one, would listen to myself if they explained why I should/shouldn't do this certain thing. Some people would do the same, some wouldn't be able to process it, and others would do something else. It could well make a vast difference, but I see no reason for a hole in space/time.
