History Changes!!

:DHow many of notice that in time the schoolastic information or reasons things happened becomes different in time!
I noticed that the reason for the war between the north and south was to free the slaves.
When I was a child, we were taught that the war was over Econimic disagreements between the North and south and that Lincoln decided the slaves needed to be freed at the end of this war!
I agreed that the slaves needed to be freed, but see a danger in the changes in American History! What else has been changed?:confused:

Civil War - was it the slaves or the money? These are not mutually exclusive - it was actually both. You have to go a bit further back in history, before the Lincoln Administration, to see that the tensions were there, the war, while not inevidable, was a distinct possibility for sometime.
Good topic, though, I'd like to write more, but am pressed for time.
