Why, in a country where freedom comes first, are we forced to vote under only a few parties?:confused: What is a Democrat or Republican these days anyway?

You have the option of forming your own Party. Everyone does in America... All it takes is cash.

The short answer is that we aren't required to vote under a few parties; we can vote for whomever we choose. In a republican form of democracy, the elections are focused on the candidate, not the party - notice how many 'swing voters' there are.
The long answer is, well, long. Maybe later.

:mad: Yes we can have many parties if we like, but in other countries where they can't get a majority, they have weak governments, that can do little! In the US a 3rd party can help mess up the election as it did in 2000!:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I've seen 8 or 10 different 'party' candidates on the general election ballot.
Remember the reform party?
... the green party?
... the libertarian party?
... the USA communist party?
