A HUGE ABUSE OF GOVERNMENT POWER!
EXPLOITING THE 'AMBER ALERT' BILL:
Without public notice, a hearing, or debate in Congress, the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act was passed by both houses of Congress as part of the PROTECT Act S.151 (the Amber Alert child abduction bill.) - THIS IS A BILL THAT FAILED WHEN VOTED ON IN THE PAST!
So - what does shutting down clubs, raves and concerts have to do with the Amber Alert System, and finding missing children? NOTHING.
Our own government is exploiting children by slipping their FAILED bills into laws like the 'amber alert bill', which on the surface seems helpful to children.
THIS LAW GOES WAY TOO FAR!!
NO MATTER WHAT The event promoter does to prevent drugs from getting inside their event, they can still be ARRESTED!
Security Guards and Searches at the door? - DOESNT MATTER!
On-Site Police? - DOESNT MATTER!
On-Site Medical Teams? - DOESNT MATTER!
All it takes is ONE person to get drugs inside, and the event is OVER and the promoter ARRESTED!
We are not against new laws that would help ensure that promoters take the proper precautions (such as security searches by Licensed/Bonded guards).
However, the VAGUE AND POOR WORDING of this law punishes the promoters who are doing it right!

GETTING THE WORD OUT:
The rave/dance/club scene has been watching these laws for a long time now. HOWEVER - THIS LAW TARGETS *ALL* MUSIC EVENTS! Rap, Rock, Electronic Music - Whatever. They are all at risk.
Example: Imagine rapper Dr. Dre trying to do the 'Up In Smoke Tour' under this new law.
WITH EVERY MUSIC SCENE UNITED - THIS WILL BE *HUGE*!!!
How do we do it? The internet of course.
We are in the process of getting teams of people together across the country to BOMB fellow music lovers e-mail boxes, website, and message boards!
